Stuck between two worlds, full time employment and doing my metaphysical passion business "on the side."

After having my daughter, I struggled with burnout and postpartum challenges, so I made the difficult decision to close the marketing agency that had been supporting my family (my husband was a stay-at-home dad) and took a full-time marketing position with an e-commerce company. This new role was a great fit, allowing me to step back from the stresses of running my own business while I focused on my recovery and rebuilding my nervous system. I was content in this job until 2024 when the urge to return to entrepreneurship resurfaced. However, this time, I didn’t want to go back to my agency. Instead, I had been nurturing my side business, PsyChicks, a metaphysical community and business directory that I’d started in 2019. It was my passion project, and I yearned to pour my full attention and energy into it.

In the spring of 2024, frustrated by the limitations of conventional employment, I looked in the mirror and made a promise to myself: I would scale PsyChicks into a business that could support me full-time. I set a goal for January 2025 and decided that, with a low-cost membership model, 100 members would give me the income I needed. I got to work, and by September, I had already reached my monthly income goal, allowing me to quit my job early. Now, I’m fully employed in PsyChicks, running a membership with consistent demand, new leads coming in every day, and a conversion process that I know can reliably support me.

It only took about six months for me to scale to a place where I felt comfortable transitioning because I already knew what to do—having built and scaled my agency before and helped other businesses grow. For me, the process was smooth, but I know many others struggle with this step, which is why I created this beta program. I want to help business owners who are stuck at the “start” phase build their small businesses to a place where their income is consistent and reliable.
